Bambusa multiplex Sliverstripe is the largest of the cultivars of B. multiplex
Each node bears a large number of branches down to the culm base, making a dense hedge. The hardiest of the Bambusa, it will grow well down to -8° C on otherwise favourable sites. Makes 6m on a good site and 25mm dia


B. multiplex natural form in the open is weeping.





Bambusa multiplex has many different forms, Bambusa multiplex var. alphonse carr has bright yellow and green striped culms and makes a fine feature bamboo


Sliverstripe is not so loud and bright and a taller more upright plant than either green multipex or alphonse carr.
